Grooming long-fur rabbits is essential to keep them healthy and comfortable. Rabbits like Angoras have thick fur that can easily become matted if not properly maintained.

Why Grooming Is Important

Matted fur occurs when the rabbit’s fur becomes tangled and compacted. Removing severe mats can take several days and may be uncomfortable for the rabbit. Once your rabbit is mat-free, daily grooming helps prevent future problems.

After removing mats, groom your rabbit every day or every other day for 5–10 minutes to maintain their coat. Grooming time can become a special bonding experience—you can talk to your bunny and enjoy this calm, shared routine.

Problems Caused by Matted Fur
