Rabbit Hay & Water (Daily Care)

Hay

• Rabbits should eat roughly their body volume in hay each day.

• Hay must be available 24/7.

• You can:

  • Use a hay rack, or

  • Place hay on one side of their litter box (this often encourages use).

Water

• Rabbits drink a significant amount of water daily.

• Use heavy water bowls (to prevent tipping).

• Provide 2 or more bowls per rabbit, since:

  • Rabbits like to play with water

  • They may put toys into the bowls

Cleaning Routine

• Replace flooring as needed

• Clean litter boxes daily

• Wash and refill water bowls

After cleaning:

• Add a large amount of hay to litter boxes

Litter Box Setup

• Sugarplum & Prince Charming

  • 3 litter boxes available

  • Prefer using one large litter box

• Zora & Zita (dwarf rabbits)

  • Share one large litter box

Water Tracking (24 Hours)

After cleaning and refilling using a large water bottle:

• Sugarplum & Prince Charming: ~2 cups per day

• Zora & Zita: ~½ cup per day
